CLARK, NJ — Students in Mrs. Cathy Marano’s sixth grade World Languages & Cultures class recently explored the country and culture of Portugal!
Students participated in a gallery walk where they worked together to learn about Portugal’s geography and landmarks, food, music, traditions, celebrations, art, and architecture. As they moved through each station, students answered questions, made observations, and discovered what makes Portuguese culture unique.
Marano said, “It was a fun and interactive way to bring our study of Portugal to life!”She added, “The students really enjoyed the Portugal Gallery Walk. They were excited to move from station to station and discover different parts of Portuguese culture. It was a fun way for them to learn about Portugal beyond the classroom notes.”
One student said, “I like that I got to learn new things about Portugal.”
Another student stated, “I was getting hungry reading about the foods!”
All in all, the gallery walk was a great success and a creative and exciting way to learn about the history and culture of Portugal.
